The sacs are made from antique and vintage linen (19th Century ~ 1950s) and either new or old matelas which has been embroidered with the word “bain” / bath. Inside the bag is a brand new 100% linen towel. It may seem strange but linen is an ideal towel as it is non-allergenic, can absorb 20% of its weight in moisture before feeling damp, dries quickly and takes up far less space than traditional terry towelling. Also, linen can be washed with conditioner which increases its softness but does not affect its absorbency unlike towelling. The towel is a huge 100 x 150 cm and could easily double as a sarong whilst on holiday so is great for the traveller and the fashion conscious. The bags have been handmade by a lady called Laurence who lives near Montpellier. As she uses whatever linen and matelas she can find plus a piece of vintage ribbon or lace along the top no two bags are ever identical.
